When training as a commercial roofing technician you must be prepared for extensive on the job training that adds to the already learned book knowledge. Many states have improved their techniques of commercial roofing over the years. The choices of roofing materials and designs are chosen according to the climate in that state or region. This same technique is also required of roofing technicians to ensure the long life of commercial roofs.

Most institutes have training programs for commercial roofing technicians. The program offers theoretical training that focuses more on actual hands on experience. Part of the training session includes an on-site training program that covers both practical and class based tasks. Actual class training is essential to become a commercial roofing technician, however, it’s not mandatory.
